Naya (sp?) you are amazing!!!

Your question/remarks during the latest episode are amazing!! I have an answer to your question. The reason certain communities who have been considered “minorities” are getting on this anti-Israel bandwagon is because it feels good to be antisemitic. Someone explained to me that antisemitism is like a drug- it’s addictive, and people who have just discovered the joys of it are loathe to admit they have a problem. Subjugated groups like members of the Black community, or the LGBT community, are maybe used to being on the bottom, and it feels good to have someone who is lower on the totem pole (I’ve heard people say it’s “beautiful” and “unifying”, which makes my skin crawl). These are my two cents- what I’ve deduced from my own brain feeling like it’s going to explode within the past year and a half. Two books (besides Unveiled, which is my favorite book of the last year and a half!!!) that have helped me understand this are People Love Dead Jews by Dara Horn and Antisemite and Jew by Jean-Paul Sartre. Thank you so, so much for standing up!!! You can try to tell people in your community: just like there could be a Jewish person who is racist, Black people can be antisemitic, and both of those hypothetical people must interrogate their beliefs and evolve! It is long time proofed that antisemitism is a catalysator for deeper crisises wether individually or among societies- I still wonder why always jews become the overall target in which even conflicting parties and other marginalized groups join together at the end? Maybe it is for most people an "unvisible" possibility to project everything they want on them. Since jews are a minority in this world and many, many of those hateful people even do not know any of them personally- it is so very easy to project it on to the "invisible" and since it has such a looooooong tradition to do so, it continues that way. Maybe it is that....at the end, I still don't know - only know it has to stop.
